Hey everyone,
In my recent travels in Central and South America, I had the fortune of experiencing different cultures and lifestyles. Traveling always gives me additional insights into what creates well-being and how we can sustain it in our lives. There, I noticed a few common threads that make life just seem easier, simpler, and more enjoyable.
I just ask myself what is the secret in finding this kind of well-being?
Simplicity. It is all around us. It’s not in fancy gadgets, medicine, or expensive products.
Awareness and appreciation of your natural surroundings:
See the sunshine every day- especially in the morning.
Breathe fresh air- Step outside, take a walk around the block, or have coffee on the porch and take a few deep breaths.
Be in the moment….no past, no future. Take 3 breaks a day to stop for a moment and notice how you are feeling.
Do at least one thing a day for yourself that doesn’t involve technology, gym equipment, or screens.
Add movement to your daily routine, e.g.: take 2 flights of stairs before getting on the elevator, park your car at a distance from your destination, put your water bottle/glass in another room, etc.
I was just reading that 95% of our thoughts each day are about either the future or the past. In other words, we often dwell on what has already happened or worry about what could happen.
It’s not a cliche: Feeling where you actually are, and living that actual moment in time, enables us to feel gratitude and calmness in our lives.
I challenge you to try these daily practices and see how you feel.
Best,
Liron
